Show Director Nancy Trottier, whose husband The Reverend François Trottier is the Rector at St. Barnabas, has over 25 years experience organizing and participating in fine art and fine crafts shows throughout the United States and also in Canada. She said, "It is our hope to create a “family friendly event” as well as provide a welcoming venue for the accepted artists and craftspersons. We hope to bring our faith community and the arts community together with the wider regional community in a very unique way."

In addition to the exhibitors and musical entertainment, this event will feature a “Kid’s Art Corner” where children can come with their parents and create a piece of art to take home for FREE. Volunteer artisans will staff the table and help distribute various art materials. Art on the Lawn will also include demonstrations of calligraphy, watercolour painting, jewelry making, and other fine arts and crafts media. This juried show will also offer cash prizes to artists in the category of Best of Show, $150, Best of Fine Arts, $100, Best of Crafts, $100, and Best of Mixed Media, $100. An additional award, People's Choice, $50, will be awarded at the close of the event from ballots completed by each visitor to the show.  Before the opening of the second day of the show, participating exhibitors will be honoured at an Awards Breakfast to be held in the St. Barnabas Church Hall where the awards will be distributed.

Prospective performers are invited to share their talents by providing musical entertainment, poetry reading, and also dramatic readings to entertain visitors.  Performers wishing to participate should contact Show Director, Nancy Trottier, by completing the Call for Performers form available on this website, or by calling the church office, 613-584-4131.  Although compensation will not be offered, the donation of one hour of time will provide great exposure for new and emerging performers. All performers will be encouraged to “pass the hat” for donations to support their efforts.
