Art on the Lawn, a new juried fine arts and fine crafts show to be held in Deep River this September, announces a special awards category for area high school students.  Nancy Trottier, Show Director, invites all area high school students to complete the call for Entry Form on the show website, www.dr-stbarnabas.ca. She said, “The Entry Fee of $10 is waived for all area high school students. If they are accepted by the Call for Entry Jury, their “show fee” of $75 will be reduced to $37 for the two-day event. Students should complete the Call for Entry form, mark it HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, and mail it, postmarked no later than June 1, 2012.”

The deadline for the professional artist and craftsperson’s jury is May 15, 2012.

Art on the Lawn organizers wish to encourage all high school students currently producing fine arts and fine crafts work to consider entering. “We have also created a special awards category for high school students which will include cash awards. The awards are Best of High School Show, $75, Best of High School Fine Arts, $50, Best of High School Crafts, $50, and a High School People’s Choice Award of $25,” said Trottier. A formal award certificate will accompany each cash award. As in the main awards category for professional artists, the High School People’s Choice prize will be awarded based on ballots completed by visitors to the show September 7th and 8th this year.
