Art on the Lawn Lecture Series Huge Success!

The Art on the Lawn Lecture Series kicked off this year with two lectures, one in May and the second in June. The first lecture by Paul Herrera, was on  the Life and Times of Father Edward Michael Catich, a world expert on calligraphy and liturgical art. Following the lecture, Herrera gave a demonstration of stone inscription carving for the crowd, and answered questions. Check out the photos here!  The second lecture was given in June by Nancy Trottier, Show Director for Art on the Lawn. Nancy discussed the Book of Hours and its transition from script to print culture. The final lecture in the series will be given on Monday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. by local potter, Carol Grant. Carol will be discussing her creative process in making pottery and demonstrating some hand techniques she uses in the studio. Mark your calendars!
