Art on the Lawn Juried Exhibitors-Support Working Artisans!!!

Below are the folks who were juried into Art on the Lawn 2012! Click on their name, where applicable, to be taken to the artisans' personal website.

These folks went through a second jury process Friday, September 7, for the determination of the prizes: Best of Show, $150, Best of Fine Arts, $100, Best of Crafts, $100, and Best of Mixed Media, $100. PLEASE NOTE THE WINNERS BELOW!

There was a final award chosen by all the PEOPLE who visit the show, and it is called the People's Choice Award, $50. Each visitor to the show completes a ballot for their favorite exhibitor and the Award is made at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8.This years winner was ANNE MOFFITT.

We had good weather on Friday, however Saturday morning during the Award's Breakfast we realized the rain would necessitate bringing the show indoors. Two of our parish members who stayed in the church overnight to guard the grounds had worked out a plan for moving folks inside. Within an hour our volunteers had relocated everyone into the church with a few hearty souls remaining outside in enclosed tents.

We had musical entertainment highlighted by the Wula's Drum Circle from 1-3, the Saxiphonics from 3-4, and the St. Barnabas Brass after 4. IT WAS AMAZING!

We were also very blessed to have an exhibit by the Valley Artisans' Co-op from Deep River. This group is know for the fine quality of their work. They were not part of the jury process for prizes, however, they will be selling original "from the valley" work, very similar to what they sell in their retail gallery in Deep River, ON. We also had a wonderful exhibit from the Mackensie School here in Deep River brought to us by Cathy Walsh.

This was a great opportunity to come and support working artisans!!! We estimate that even with the rain we had over 500 visitors to the show over the two days of the event.

Here are our juried exhibitors!
